About the Event

Spend a summer weekend in one of Portugal's most beautiful, yet lesser-known, ancient oak forests in a self-made basecamp to practice primitive skills and deep nature connection.

This is an invitation to recall your place in the web of life through hands-on survival skills, sense-based nature connection activities and sweet-water streams!

As it's a different place and season, this event will vary. This video is an impression from a past program.

This Is For

✔ Adults who want to immerse in nature's cycle and learn real wilderness skills

✔ Beginners and experienced crafts-people, artists, survival practitioners, educators, gardeners, biology enthusiasts, permaculturists and all those wishing to get closer to the Earth

We welcome teens 16+ to join with a responsible adult.

What You'll Learn

What You'll Experience

🌳 Mornings in the forest learning ancient skills

💦 Afternoons cooling off and crafting by the region's freshwater rivers & streams (option to paddle in a rented or self-made primitive kayak!! 🛶)

🌙 Evenings of story, reflection and circle sharing

🔹 A simple, primitive forest camp with shared organic meals

🔹 Sharing land with wild boar, fox, rabbit, badger, lizards and many birds

🔹 Hands-on learning/playing within a small community of practice rooted in curiosity, learning & fun!

Location, Accommodation & Food

📍 30 minutes north of Tomar / 40 minutes from Coimbra / 1 hour from Leiria / 1h45 from Lisbon. Set in a 50-hectare ancient oak forest along the Caminho de Santiago.

🏕 We’ll camp together under the canopy of oak trees. Bring your own sleeping gear (tent/tarp, sleeping bag, sleeping mat).

🍲 Organic meals — We'll share brunch, dinner and fruits together, including foraged ingredients. Dietary needs noted at checkout.

🚙 Transportation — Cars will be useful as some of our afternoons will include day trips with 10-30 minutes of car travel.
